Combined air de-aeration & dirt separation

FLAMCOVENT CLEAN Combined
de-aeration & dirt separators

The operation of the Flamcovent Clean is based on a combination of de-aerating – equivalent to the standard Flamcovent – and dirt separation. For de-aeration, special packing bodies are used – originally the well-known Raschig rings. The Raschig ring was later followed by many variants, of which the Pall ring is the best known.

Microscopic gas bubbles present in the liquid attach to the contact surface of the Pall rings. Via coalescence, these microbubbles grow to form larger bubbles. These larger gas bubbles have sufficient buoyancy to be separated in an air chamber.

The Flamcovent Clean has been specially designed to remove solid dirt particles as wellas air. The extended bottom contains an area that is free of turbulence. This gives dirt particles, which are heavier than water, the chance to settle to the bottom. The dirt particles cannot be drawn back into the system. Via the drain cock at the bottom, these dirt particles can be removed.
